Midwest Transmission Project

Reputation and Brand Management

Parris was engaged by Burns & McDonnell, KCP&L and the Omaha Public Power District to develop communications strategies for the Midwest Transmission Project (MTP), a $400M project to bring electricity to northwest Missouri and southeast Nebraska.

Parris guided community outreach activities to ensure a smooth path for the eventual stringing of a 345-kilovolt electric transmission line through 10 counties in Missouri and Nebraska.  In 2013, the combined teams’ unique and innovative communications efforts were honored with a Best of Show award from the Kansas City Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America.
