Our firm managed media relations and strategic communications following the largest fire in Kansas City history, which took place at a construction site in Overland Park, Kansas. Sparks from a welder’s torch in the midst of an extremely windy day ignited a newly-constructed apartment building, and quickly leapt to a nearby structure before spreading throughout the surrounding residential neighborhood. 25 homes were set fire in one harrowing moment.

Parris developed a strategy to manage the immediate and long-term needs of the homeowners, which included setting up a Fire Relief Fund. Efforts also included throwing a “Thank You Barbecue” for first responders and organizing the replacement of fire equipment damaged while fighting the blaze.
