Melissa Gall

Account Executive

Melissa’s journey with Parris began while studying at the University of Kansas, where for the duration of senior year, she interned with the firm. Following graduation, she joined the firm full-time, immediately utilizing her skills in media relations, event planning and management and strategic communications counsel to service Shawnee Mission Health and Polsinelli PC.

Her ongoing work in a variety of industries allows her to successfully engage media locally and nationally. Within her first two years with the firm, Melissa secured Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers Veteran’s Day coverage on ABC’s World News Tonight with David Muir, which aired November 11, 2016, and Helzberg Diamonds an audience gifting opportunity on the Rachael Ray Show, which aired December 18, 2017.

Melissa has supported the Kansas City Pet Project (KCCP) on a pro-bono basis throughout her time with Parris. Her commitment to animal welfare inspired her advocacy of the April 2017 GO KC $800 million general obligation bond. Through a property tax increase over 20 years, Kansas Citians were invited to vote in favor or in opposition of infrastructure improvements across the city. Question 3 positioned $50 million for building improvements, with $14 million apportioned with private contributions that would initiate construction of Kansas City’s first proper animal shelter. Lead by Roshann Parris’ fearless vision, Melissa joined the KCCP team to execute the Raise the Woof comprehensive capital campaign that encouraged voter turnout and a positive vote on Question 3. Voters unanimously authorizing Question 3 was the culmination of the multi-month initiative on track to forever change the future of two and four-legged Citians for the better.

Her experience in planning and executing groundbreakings, including Shawnee Mission Health’s B.E. Smith Family Center Groundbreaking and Kiewit Construction’s Lenexa City Center Campus Groundbreaking, attended by Kansas Governor Jeff Colyer, was highlighted by the success of the Kansas City Campus for Animal Care Groundbreaking, celebrated with a ceremonial dirt turning on June 26, 2018. The historic day emphasized the tireless effort following the April 2017 bond authorization and marked the beginning of construction for the future home of KCCP, which will provide services to over 10,000 animals and 25,000 families throughout Kansas City.

Melissa actively supports Edgemoor as the it embarks on the development of a new Kansas City Airport, the largest, most significant infrastructure project in the history of the city. By attending community meetings and listening sessions in her district, Melissa remains engaged and energized by the champions behind the project.

In addition to her client service roles, Melissa co-manages the firm’s internship program, where she oversees the recruiting, hiring, training and day-to-day project management of seasonal interns.

She enjoys representing Parris on the United Way of Greater Kansas City’s LINC cabinet, an organization that enables young professionals opportunities to volunteer and network with other millennials. She is active in her Junior League of Kansas City chapter and is currently serving on the Take Five Decorations and Operations Committee as she plans the League’s second-largest fundraiser. In addition, Melissa serves as a mentor to the University of Kansas School of Journalism and Alumni Association network, where she offers her time to advise students as they navigate their next steps, whether that be applying for internships or preparing to begin their career.

Melissa is native to Northern California, but found her true home in the heart of the Midwest. She is a graduate of the University of Kansas with a Bachelor of Science in Journalism and minor in Business.
